The Citizenry is a brand I love to look at each season.  They believe that travel should inspire our surroundings.  To accomplish this they partner with artisans within each country they create a collection with.  While traveling in Seattle years ago I came across an incredible exhibit of Japanese art and techniques.  One technique featured in the exhibit was Sashiko which uses embroidery or stitching to reinforce a garment while creating beautiful decorative patterns.  I immediately thought this idea would be a great concept for The Citizenry and was inspired to create a collection of textiles using traditional Sashiko techniques with a modern twist.
